SHADOWS FADE
Shadows Fade, titled after a headstone inscription in my Scottish seaside hometown, focuses on death, grief and spiritualism. Dealing with my own family history and drawing inspiration from my spiritualist great aunt and her relationship with my bereaved grandmother who witnessed the accidental death of her five-year-old daughter. This project explores my own frustrations with spiritualism and the fragile metaphysical landscape people inhabit as they try to cope with loss. images © mike inglis
